The Global Energy Management (GEM) Program at the University of Colorado Denver would like to encourage everyone to find a way to help our fellow Coloradans affected by the devastating wildfires.

There are many ways to help, please go to: to find out how you can help support effort to help people rebuild their lives.

The GEM team chose the Mile High chapter of the Red Cross for our donations and our entire staff made a commitment to donate what they could. We have all posted a direct link to the Red Cross website to our personal Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages, appealing to our networks to help Colorado.

As of this morning, our staff of eight has promoted the Red Cross to over 2500 of our personal connections and an unknown number of University supporters. Our friends and family are sharing our links and committing to donating, from as far away as England and Sweden.

The University of Colorado Denver supports volunteerism in our community and encourages employees to engage by offering a paid day to employees to volunteer. The GEM staff will be utilizing this benefit to volunteer for the Red Cross in the next several weeks.
