About DOE’s Geothermal Program Activities:

An overview of the DOE Geothermal Technologies Program regarding technologies of interest including Enhanced Geothermal Systems, Geothermal Research and Development, Innovative Exploration Technologies, Electricity Production from Low Temperature/Co-produced Resources, and Ground Source Heat Pumps.  DOE has several projects in each of these topic areas as a result of obligating approximately $338 million in Recovery Act funding to financial assistance awardees in 2009 and from obligation of funding from continued annual appropriations.  We will describe the basic principles behind each of these technologies, and discuss the goals of the Geothermal Program in funding them.

About our speaker:
Grant graduated from Whitman College in 2002 with a Bachelors Degree in Geology, and in 2007 from Central Washington University with a Masters in Geology. Grant has been working within the geothermal industry for about three years.
