About Ken Beitel’s Presentation:

401(k) and IRA plans hold $15 trillion in assets.  To swiftly increase clean energy production, a Colorado team of finance and communication experts known as The Renewable Energy Initiative (TREI) has launched a national educational campaign to have 5% of 401(k) assets across America be invested in existing publicly traded renewable energy funds.

The intent of the Initiative is to increase clean energy fund holdings from about $2.5 billion to $350 billion over 4 years.  Presentation examines existing and in-development finance mechanisms that will allow large scale financing of renewable energy companies and projects.  Clean energy technology and cost trends along with the surge in electrical vehicle production and resulting energy demand shifts will also be reviewed.

This cutting edge lecture offers GEM participants the opportunity to participate in a future with a thriving economy and a healthy environment.  The presentation will conclude with a look at a select number of internships and research projects that TREI currently has available for student participation.

About our speaker:

Beitel, Advisory Board Chairman of the Renewable Energy Initiative, is one of the country’s leading analysts and communicators on clean energy 401(k) and IRA plan additions.  Mr. Beitel’s whitepapers and briefings have earned acclaim from the finance and clean energy sectors along with the Colorado Senate.  Presentations and media interviews include the 2010 Energy, Logistics and Environment Conference, upcoming fall 2011 Society for Human Resource Management – Colorado State Conference and The TREI has recently formed national partnerships with Morgan Stanley and American Portfolios to increase renewable energy investment.  Mr. Beitel is pleased to have Ben Beatty of Morgan Stanley and Tom Nazzaro of American Portfolios co-present sections of this week’s GEM presentation.
