March 15, 2010

Cohort I

On Saturday, June 19, 2010, for the first time in program history twenty-eight students received their diplomas becoming the first graduating class of the Global Energy Management Program.  This distinguished group of alumni represented energy professionals from Colorado and beyond.  Keynote speaker, Don McClure, VP of Encana, congratulated Cohort I on their achievement and acknowledged that their hard work has set the tone for future cohorts.

The tradition continued on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Westin Hotel when twenty-six more students joined the ranks of prestigious GEM alumni. The graduates were addressed by keynote speaker, David Sandalow, Assistant Secretary for Policy and International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy.  Cohort Liaisons Sandra Oneil and Carrie Shaeffer had the honor of speaking on behalf of their classmates; both acknowledging that over the past 18 months they gained more than just a graduate degree – they gained a “family” and developed bonds that will last well beyond graduation.
